The paywall is a web application that provides a user interface allowing people to purchase keys to given locks and subsequently trigger certain behavior based on visitors having keys at the time of page visit.

The following are example use cases of the paywall:

  • Content blocking paywalls similar to those used by web publications such as The New York Times or The Information.

  • Enabling additional functionality in software, via payment as featured in software such as Notion.
